Obituary

Samuel Edward Jameson passed way Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. He was born August 12, 1933, to Samuel Jasper & Ida Lee Jameson in Jackson County, OK. Following graduation from Altus High School in Altus, OK, in 1951, Sam enlisted in the US Army serving his country in the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge in 1954, Sam used his GI bill to attend the Weatherford College in Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in education in 1956 and began teaching. He taught High School US History, Drivers Education and coached many sports through the years before retiring in 1970. He worked at Century Housing for several years before going to work at M & H Auto Parts, where he worked for several years. Prior to retirement he worked at Farmer's Ace Hardware in Brush. In 1956 Sam met Victoria Hernandez at the Logan County Fair in Sterling, CO. The married December 29, 1956, in Sterling. Sam liked working with people and helping anyone who needed it. He like gardening until ill health forced him to stop. His favorite pasttime was spent with his 7 grandkids and 3 great grandkids. He loved watching the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Victoria of Brush; 2 sons, Sam (Janice) Jameson Jr. of Venango, NE, and Keith (Lori) of Brush; and his daughter, Janice (Larry) Griese of Akron; his grandchildren, Samuel Nathan Jameson of Lincoln, NE, Matthew (Angela) Jameson of Venango, and Zachary Jameson also of Venango, Tiffany Jameson of Brush; Timothy Griese of Firestone, CO, Tahlia and Oliver Griese of Colorado Springs, William Gries of Akron and great grandchildren Austin & Joseph Liberto and Samuel Jasper Lee Griese of Cortez, CO; 2 brothers, Bobby (Jean) Jameson of Hedrick, OK and Jim (Carol) Jameson of Stillwater, OK. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Roy, Melvin & Elzie; 2 sisters, Estalle, and Edna, and his parents. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012, at11:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Inurnment with military honors will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
