Sandra Lee Givens, 59, longtime area resident, died, Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion / UCH in Aurora. She was born May 2, 1952 in Fort Morgan to Leonard R. and Esther D. (Miller) Bernhardt. Sandra married Robert W. Givens on July 14, 1971 in Burdett, Kansas. She was a member of the Christ Congregational Church in Fort Morgan. Sandra loved her family and they were very important to her. She was a volunteer at the schools and she never missed the sporting and other events that her children and grandchildren were involved in. Sandra enjoyed camping & fishing, not necessarily the actual fishing part, but just being there with family and friends. She also enjoyed visiting a casino or two from time to time. Survivors include husband Robert Givens of Ft. Morgan, three sons, Chad Givens and wife Jamie of Brush, Drew Givens and wife Wendy of Ft. Morgan and Matt Givens and wife Marci of Ft. Morgan, her sister, Cindy Barnes and husband David of Windsor, and her brother, Randy Bernhardt and wife Carrie of Ft. Morgan, her grandchildren, Cole, Kase, Wyatt, Hannah, Rylee, Caitlin and Logan Givens, her parents, Leonard and Esther Bernhardt of Ft. Morgan and Robert's parents, D.L. "Boone" and Maxine Givens of Arkansas City, Kansas and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, July 28, 2011 from 5 until 8 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Christ Congregational Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.
