Selena Vanessa Garcia, 8, of Castle Rock, CO died at her home in Castle Rock on Friday following a lengthy illness. She was born May 5, 1999 in Ft. Morgan to Richardo and Nina Garcia. Selena was living in Parker, and attended the Prairie Crossing School. She enjoyed singing, dancing and swimming. She is survived by her parents Richardo and Nina of Ft. Morgan, her brothers and sisters; Richard Jr., LeAndra, Ruben, Adrianna and Savannah all of Ft. Morgan, her grandmother Virginia Gallegos of Ft. Morgan, and Grandfather Max James Nunez of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Maria Guadalupe, and her grandfather Ruperto Garcia. Visitation will be held on Thursday 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm with a Rosary vigil to begin at 7:30pm at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary Chapel in Ft. Morgan. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at the St. Helena Catholic Church in Ft. Morgan, Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery in Brush.
