Sherree Kathryn Bustos, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on April 21, 2026. She was born on July 5, 1960, to Ernest and Charlotte Gallegos.

Sherree lived a life centered on love, family, and connection. She was a devoted wife to Melvin Bustos. Together they created a home filled with warmth and lasting memories. When they danced, they moved in perfect sync—effortless and connected—and that same harmony could be seen in the life they built together at home.

She was a proud and loving mother to Maria (Frank) Torres, Cassy (Jarrod) Rathbun, Melody Bustos (Nick Rasmussen), and Chris (Jessie) Bustos. Her children were a source of deep pride, and she cherished watching their lives grow and flourish.

Sherree's greatest joy was her grandchildren: Devin and Danielle Torres; Brandon and Laurette Torres; Zach and Kristen Aomari; Jonathan, Olivia, and Emily Roybal; Jaxon Carr and Rio Rathbun; and William, Benjamin, and Joseph Bustos. She also held a special place in her heart for her great-grandchildren: Austin, Grayson, and Jadon Torres; Frankie Torres; and Leo Aomari. Each of them brought light and meaning to her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Sherree is lovingly remembered by her sisters and brothers, both those who are still with us and those who have gone before her, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Sherree found happiness in life's simple and meaningful moments. She loved fishing and camping, enjoying the outdoors and the peace it brought her. She loved dancing, spending time at the slot machines, cooking meals for her family, and creating memories with those she loved. Above all, she cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the center of her world.

Sherree will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the deep love she gave so freely. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and devotion to family.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 3rd from 4 – 6 PM with recitation of The Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel, 225 E. Platte Ave. Fort Morgan, CO 80701.

A Funeral Mass will be Monday, May 4th at 11:00 AM at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 340 Stanford Street, Brush, CO 80723. A luncheon will follow.
