Sherry was born on October 1st, 1951, in Weatherford, Texas to Perry Lee and Mary Glynn Hodges. The Hodges family lived in Texas until Sherry was around 5 years old when Perry took a job as a roughneck in the oil fields around Rock Springs, Wyoming.  This is where Sherry was reared and would graduate from Rock Springs High School in 1970.

It was at Denver Baptist Bible College where she met Guy Gould in 1971. A cowboy and native Coloradan, Sherry would say that Guy was a tall, dark and handsome cowboy who was quiet and a slow mover, but sweet and hardworking. They met when Sherry was walking up the stairs at school, she tripped, and Guy conveniently caught her like something out of a Debbie Reynolds movie. When Guy proposed, Sherry gladly accepted and on August 3rd, 1973, they were married.

The Gould family wouldn't be just two for long. Two days before their first anniversary they were blessed with their oldest daughter, Shelisa, followed a year later by their second, Katrina; Holly followed in 1977, and finally, Clinton in 1980. The Gould Ranch became a family affair with all the kids working on the ranch with Guy and Sherry between Lyons and Estes Park. While Guy was working the ranch and driving truck for Yellow Freight Systems, Sherry maintained the home and worked as a seamstress, house cleaner and numerous other jobs to put the kids through Christian school. As a mother she was a notable cook and teacher to her children and, while life wasn't always a breeze, Sherry made sure her children were loved and cared for.

For those that knew her, Sherry was a "Jill of all trades". Whether it was personal hobbies, business-related, or dealing with the family, Sherry knew how to do everything! Some of her favorite hobbies were sewing, quilting, baking, cooking, painting and gardening. All were skills she would use to bless others. Many times, she would go out and find the perfect rock and paint it into a sweet animal which she would give out to anyone. She loved making clothing and sewed all of her daughter's prom dresses and, eventually, dresses, skirts, and blankets for her grandchildren. On the business side, she did anything and everything that needed to be done. If it meant helping Guy work cattle, she would do it. If it meant keeping the books in order, she was on top of it. There was very little that she wouldn't or couldn't do and everyone knew it.

This hardworking and determined mindset made her a strong testimony for the Lord. In July of 1968 she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and was baptized that same year in the river outside Pinedale, Wyoming. Over the years she would instill her love for the Lord in her family. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Longmont, CO for over 20 years where she helped with children's ministries and, once again, anything else that needed done. For the last 10 years they have been at Platte Valley Baptist Church where they have attended. When things got hard, Sherry was known for refusing to fear but turning to the Lord instead. A strong prayer warrior, she tried not to worry herself, but constantly prayed for those she cared for. Sherry had a beautiful singing voice and would sing hymns to her grandchildren any chance she could. It was this love and care that made Sherry a beautiful testimony for her Lord.

Sherry will always be remembered for her heart and her laughter. Her desire to care for and help others is unmatched. We couldn't have asked for a better wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will miss her every day. It is known that Sherry never feared death, because she knew she would be meeting Jesus. We rejoice in the knowledge that she is with the Lord and sitting at Jesus's feet, and it is a comfort and testimony to share.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Matthew 6: 31-34

Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'. For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient is its own trouble.

Hodges. Sherry is survived by her husband of 50 years, Guy Gould; her three daughters: Shelisa & Bob Davis of Belle Fourche, SD, Katrina & Mike Dawson of Boring, OR, Holly & Jed Roark of Prescott, AZ; her son, Clinton Gould of Greeley, CO; her 13 grandchildren: Cheyenne,

Marytta, Guy, and Dalton Davis; Sydney, Levi, Wyatt and Cole Dawson, Colton, Fallon, and  Pake Roark, and Conagher and Cash Gould; her sister Terry Skillen of Weatherford, TX, and her mother-in-law, Carman Gould of Niwot, CO and numerous brother and sisters-in-law and, nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19th at 11:00 AM at Platte Valley Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.plattevalleybaptistchurch.org/
