Shirlee Louise Wilson, 77, longtime area resident, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Ft. Morgan. She was born September 20, 1935 in Brush to Lloyd Emerson Pollock and Florence Louise Hancock. Shirlee attended schools in Ft. Morgan, Fallon, Nevada, and Camarillo, California. She married Donald R. Wilson on April 16, 1953. They had two sons, Richard Lee Wilson of Oracle, Arizona and the late Darryl Gene Wilson. Shirlee was diagnosed with polio in December of 1953 and became paralyzed. She raised her sons from her wheel chair. Shirley was a strong advocate for people with physical challenges. She loved her family and they were very important to her. Shirlee enjoyed reading, and crafts, and was a marvelous homemaker. Survivors include, one son, Richard Wilson and wife Kathy of Oracle, Arizona, three sisters, Evelyn Marie Lewis of Pasadena, CA, Norma Gene Pflager of Ft. Morgan, and Melba Irene Farnik of Brush, one brother, Harold Lloyd Pollock of Ft. Morgan, grandchildren, Jay Paul Wilson and wife Samantha of Arizona, Jennifer Uhrick and husband Donny of Wiggins, Stacy Brownlee and Jenny Simpson of Tucson, Arizona, great grandchildren, J.R. , Tucker, and Dakota Kolman all of Wiggins, Kannon Wilson and Shelbi Miller of Tucson, Arizona, and Allison, Maggie, Kaden and Carter Post of Marana, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, a baby sister, Wanda Faye, and her son Darryl Wilson. Memorial Services will be Friday, November 30, 2012 at 10:30 am at the 1st Christian Church in Ft. Morgan. Services will conclude at the church. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts in her name in care of the Heer Mortuary in Ft. Morgan.
