Shirley I. Bobo, 86, forty year resident of the Sterling, Merino & Fort Morgan communities, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013, at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan following a short illness. She was born May 17, 1927, in Hayes County, NE to Raymond & Wilma Thompson. Shirley married Roy Bobo on July 28, 1948 in McCook, NE. The Bobo family moved to NE Colorado where Shirley was a school cook for the Merino School District. Shirley was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Hayes County, NE. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Roy, of Fort Morgan; 3 children, Lanalle Lechman and her husband, Ron of Merino, CO; Chuck Bobo and his wife, Maureen, of Denver; and Reb Bobo, and his wife, Karen, of San Antonio, FL; 6 grandchildren, Nathan Lechman, Roni Mathewson, Heather Bowman, Summer Danser, Alyssa Bobo, and Taylor Bobo; and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Penny Sue Bobo; 2 brothers, Wilbur & Robert Thompson, and her parents. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 9, 2013, at 10:30 AM at the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling at 1:30 PM.
