Shirley Jean Clift, 93, longtime area resident, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.

She was born March 4, 1924 in Fort Morgan to Edwin and Lora (Koeneke) Luhrs.

Shirley married Bert G. Clift Jr. on August 28, 1947 at the Presbyterian Church in Brush.

In her earlier years, Shirley was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan, later transferring to the New Testament Baptist Church in Brush where her son Bert is the pastor.

Shirley enjoyed ceramics and had a ceramic shop in her garage at one time. She also raised birds, and through the years raised many different types, including song birds, big birds, small birds and most everything in between.

She loved her family and they were very important to her, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two children, Bert Clift (Penny) of Brush, and Gayle Johnson of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Bert, her sister Edwyn Barney, granddaughter, Tracy Tacker, and great granddaughter, Zoe Clift.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
