Stanley Latoski, 65, lifetime resident of Morgan County, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Colorado Plains Medical Center due to complications of Covid-19.

He was born February 18, 1956 in Fort Morgan to Dale and Margaret (Garcia) Latoski. Stan married Katherine Wulf on July 7, 1979 in Fort Morgan. They met while he was on leave after being overseas in Okinawa. Stan joined the United States Marine Corp right after high school graduation in 1974, and was honorably discharged in 1978. He completed his reserve service in 1980.Stan worked at various jobs throughout his life, but his passion was laying carpet, tile and numerous carpentry projects like home remodels. He started out working with Marvin Elwood at Fort Morgan Carpet Center while he was still in high school and eventually became self-employed until ill health prevented him from working. He tried to keep busy, but failing eyesight sometimes made it difficult. Earlier in his life, Stan loved camping in the mountains, particularly in the Gould area. He also enjoyed watching football, gardening, traveling, tinkering with anything and everything, and showering his dogs with attention. He loved his dogs and many times Kathy would say, "if we ever got stranded and they got hungry -- they would be eating me!"

Stan is survived by his wife, Kathy; his companion Lab dogs, Toby and Tyler; his sister, Dalene Latoski; his mother-in-law, Virginia Wulf; his sister-in-law, Karen (Kenny) Rehn; his brother-in-law, Bryan Wulf; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Bob Latoski and LeRoy Gallegos, his sister in-law DaleLynn Latoski, nephew, Jeffery Webster and his father-in-law, Charles Wulf.

Stan wrote daily in a prayer journal. He struggled with his physical limitations due to poor health in recent years. He prayed for new life and restored independence with vision. Three years ago, Stan received a new life with a kidney transplant. In one of his entries he wrote, "Father, I confess that I need the Savior. I have sinned, and my life is empty and without hope. I know that the Lord Jesus is the hope of all humanity. I pray that you forgive my sins and give me a fresh opportunity to live my life for you. I long to live to the fullest, and I realize that this begins as I submit my life to you. I ask that you give me new life." God has answered his prayers and given him perfect health and new life in heaven.

A celebration of life will be held March 19th, 2022 at 11:00am at Community of Christ Church located on 806 West Street Fort Morgan, Colorado. Everyone who knew and loved Stan is welcome to attend.
