Stanley Russell Mylander, lifelong area resident, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at his home in Log Lane at the age of 90.
He was born in Fort Morgan on December 16, 1935, to Wesley & Sarah (Wilkinson) Mylander. The family lived in the Weldona area where Stan grew up alongside his sister, Marjorie. Stan enlisted in the military and moved to Fort Morgan after his discharge. He married Ellen Marie Forbes on August 16, 1959.
Stan worked as a custodian for the RE-3 school district for several years and then worked at Johnson Super Foods then Safeway. Lastly, he worked as a hay grinder and truck driver before his retirement. He also worked on pianos and appliances for several people in the community.
Stan enjoyed woodworking, especially making birdhouses and clocks.
He is survived by his children, Norelda (Jigger) Graham of Sterling, Russell (Twila) Mylander of Cheyenne, WY, and Ronald (Amy) Mylander of Borger, TX; his sister, Marjorie Mylander of Brush, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, and his wife, Marie Mylander.
Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan on Sunday, August 9th from 2 – 4 PM.
Funeral Services will be at Platte Valley Baptist Church in Fort Morgan on Monday, August 10th at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
