Stella Leis, 94, formerly of Wiggins and Brush, died Tuesday March 14 2011 at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose. She was born September 23, 1916 in Brooklyn, NY to George and Mary Griscko. She married David Leis march 28, 1943 in Benkelman, NE. She operated a very successful antique business in the 1950's and 60's. She and her husband also enjoyed raising greyhounds and other animals. She loved to dance and work in the garden. She was a very good artist and seamstress. She loved her family and would help them any way she could. She took care of her mother for many years. She is survived by one son David Leis of Montrose, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter Anitra Leaf and her parents. A Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
