Obituary

Steven Anthony Krien, 58, of McAfee, New Jersey, formerly of Fort Morgan died Friday, January 22, 2010 after a four month battle with brain cancer. He was born June 25, 1951 to Wilmer and Esther (Bartholoma) Krien in St. Francis, Kansas. Steve grew up and attended schools in Brush and Fort Morgan. Steve learned his life profession of masonry from his father and uncles. He worked for Wilmer Krien Masonry for twelve years in the surrounding areas. He then traveled to Arizona and Kansas, building his skills. He had worked for his best friend Bruce Switzer, with Custom Masonry by Switzer in McAfee, New Jersey for the last 22 years. Steve's mason artistry is spread throughout the country. Survivors include his daughter, Carrie and 2 grandchildren, Megan and April of Windsor; sister Connie Canfield and brothers Terry, Wilmer Jr., and Stuart Krien of Fort Morgan, brother Toby Krien of Kansas City, MO., niece Teresa Canfield Risser and great nieces Paige and Brooke Risser of Greeley and his extended family Bruce and Jill Switzer; Gary and Kari Krol, Cassidy & Holden all of McAfee, NJ. Steve was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a Graveside Memorial service at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM.
