Steven Russell Overturf, 52, of Fort Morgan passed away at Colorado Plains Medical Center on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.  He was born April 13, 1969 in Wray, Colorado to Dr. Bruce R. and Anne (Lockwood) Overturf.

In 1970, the family moved to Fort Morgan where he attended local schools graduating with the class of 1987.  He attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado for 1 year then transferred to the University of Idaho, in Moscow, graduating in 1995 as an Army ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

After 4 years of active duty with the 1 ^st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, he was discharged and began working for Houston Light and Power.  In 2007 he moved with his son, Joshua, to Fort Morgan and began work at the Pawnee Power Plant.  He was employed there at the time of his death.

Steve was a devoted father.  His love for Joshua was the driving force in his life.  He was a dedicated family man, a loving son, brother, and uncle. He had a strong passion for his country and for those who serve.  His hobbies included fishing, target shooting, and welding but, most importantly, traveling and seeking adventure with Joshua.

Survivors include his son, Joshua of Fort Morgan, mother Anne Overturf of Fort Morgan, Teri (Tim) Sieg of Eaton, brother Dan (Kellie) Overturf of Yuma, nephews and nieces, Aaron (Ashley) Overturf, Ridley, Claire and Bruce of Fleming, Randi (Lance) Meyer, Logan, Carson, Rayleigh Anne and Adalyn of Grand Junction, Tyler (Ann) Sieg and A. J. of Sterling, Trent (Carly) Sieg of Las Vegas,Nevada, and Tarynn (Austin) Bown of Ault.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Bruce R., and brother, Scott Allen Overturf.

A celebration of Steve's life will be Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Elevating Life Church, 16756 County Road 18 in Fort Morgan.
