STEVEN CARL SCHLOTHAUER, 58, of Fort Morgan, passed away at his home on May 13, 2007. Steven was born March 11, 1949 in Fort Morgan to Carl & Lucille Schlothauer. He was baptized and confirmed at the Christ Congregational Church in Fort Morgan. He attended schools in Fort Morgan and graduated in 1967. After attending two years of agriculture college, he returned home to start his own farming business. Steve married Elaine Earll on April 4, 1992. To this union was born a son, Shane Lee. Steve's favorite pastimes were snow skiing, waterskiing, and spending time with his wife and son. Steve will be remembered for his great stories that made everyone laugh. He had a joke for every occasion. He will be forever cherished for his wonderful smile and loving heart. Schlothauer is survived by his wife Elaine Schlothauer and his son Shane Schlothauer, both of Fort Morgan; and his sister, Caryl Nicholson (Stephen) & niece Carolyn of Morrison, CO; step-son, Billi Wilcox (Trisha) of Oregon and his step-daughter, Misty Byrns (Mike) & Brittany of Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jerry Schlothauer. Funeral services will be Friday, May 18, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the Christ Congregational Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan. At the family's request, friends should dress casual (blue jeans). Memorials may be made to the Christ Congregational Church. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of arrangements.
