Susan Kay Kammerer, 78, of Goodrich, Colorado, went to her heavenly home on October 29, 2025. She was born on November 12, 1946, in Brush, Colorado, to Harold and Eleanor (Peif) Lapp.

On September 13, 1964, Susan married the love of her life, William "Bill" Kammerer, in Fort Morgan, Colorado. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, raising their 5 children in the same 100-year-old farmhouse where Bill grew up. Known lovingly as "Suzie," Susan played a vital role in the family dairy and was the heart of the home—helping feed calves, cook, and always creating a warm and welcoming place for family and friends.

A devoted mother, Susan supported her children through their many activities and sports, always cheering them on from the sidelines. Her faith and dedication extended far beyond her home. She was an active member of the Weldon Valley Presbyterian Church, where she served faithfully as an elder, deacon, and session member. She also helped clean the church, assisted with Vacation Bible School, and was a member of the Lady's Aide.

Susan's servant heart was evident in everything she did. She volunteered at the Morgan County Courthouse during elections, participated in the G.L.A.D. Club, and was a proud member of the Orchard Lodge. She also worked at the Bee-Hive in Fort Morgan, where her kindness and warmth touched many lives.

One of the greatest joys in Susan's life was the special time she spent with her classmates and lifelong friends. Their regular get-togethers were filled with laughter, stories, and the kind of companionship that only decades of friendship can bring. These gatherings were a cherished part of her life, and the bonds she shared with her dear friends brought her great happiness and comfort through the years.

Above all, Susan was a woman of deep faith—a firm believer in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She lived out her faith daily through acts of love and service, whether it was a comforting phone call, a home-cooked meal, or cheering on her grandchildren at their events. She had a gift for making others feel cared for, and her family fondly remembers her constant planning for the next meal, even before the current one was finished.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Eleanor Lapp; sister, Charlotte (Lapp) Heidrick; and sons, William "Billy" Harold and Timothy Heath Kammerer.

Susan is survived by her beloved husband, William "Bill" Kammerer; children, Michael Kammerer of Wiggins, Donny (Sarah) Kammerer of Windsor, Anthony (Janette) Kammerer of Sutherland, NE, Heather (Greg) Golden of Windsor, and daughter in-law Nicole (Timothy) Kammerer of Wiggins; siblings, Rick (Barb) Lapp and Gary (Deb) Lapp of Fort Morgan as well as 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many extended family members and dear friends.

Susan will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for family, and the deep friendships that enriched her life. Her light will continue to shine through the many lives she's touched.

Services will be held on November 14th, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Immanuel Evangelical Church; 318 W 7th Ave, Fort Morgan, Colorado. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. There will be a luncheon to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Weldon Valley Presbyterian Church.
