Sylvia Ann (Nieto) Acevedo, 64, passed away April 11, 2026, in Thornton, CO where she was currently living.

Sylvia was born in Torrington, WY to Eucebio and Sandra (Matta) Nieto. She married Jose Roberto Acevedo and they eventually settled in Morgan County, Co where they raised their six children on their 25+ acres where they also raised cattle for a time.

Sylvia was a chef in the kitchen and loved to cook large meals and bring the family together. She enjoyed shopping, crocheting, word search puzzles, and family time. Her last days were her spent surrounded by the love and embrace of her loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Sandra, Ofelia, Jose Antonio Jr, Roberto Carlos, and Rogelio; 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her father, Eucebio Nieto; her husband, Jose; and her daughter, Jessica.

Graveside services will be Friday, May 1st at 11:00 AM in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
