Sylvia Arlene McKie passed away on December 2, 2024. Sylvia, born October 15, 1934, was an unexpected blessing to Guy and Gertrude Yearous.  She joined Waldo "Spike or Specs", Walter "Bug", Jerome "John", Joe "Breezy", Glen "Unc" and Iris "Sue" to complete Guy and Gertrude's family. Sylvia lived her entire life in Morgan County primarily in Fort Morgan.

Sylvia married James "Jim" McKie on November 27, 1952. Sylvia worked tirelessly to serve many organizations in Morgan County throughout her life. She worked in both volunteer and paid positions for Farmers State Bank, the First United Methodist Church, Fort Morgan schools, Camp Fire Girls, Boy Scouts, the Masonic Temple principally with the Order of the Rainbow, Log Lane Village as the mayor and in her small business as a day care provider. Sylvia also served on the Morgan County Economic Development Corporation Advisory Council, the Colorado Municipal League executive board and as an officer for the Colorado Association of Family Child Care. Sylvia's greatest efforts were always reserved for her family; husband Jim, their 5 children, 9 grandchildren, 8 great great-grandchildren and her extended family.

Sylvia is survived by her children and their spouses; James "Jim" (Betty), Laura (George) Luke , Margie Burgesser , and Jerome "John" grandchildren; Guy Rayner (Courtney), Troy McKie (Leena), Aaron Rayner, Christopher Luke (McKenna), Alan Burgesser, Kellie Luke, Katherine Burgesser, Beth Luke (Andrew) and John McKie great grandchildren; Brayden, Bristol, Ethan, James, Jerrica, Carson, Henry and Anna.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her loving husband Jim; her parents Guy and Gertrude; her brothers and sisters-in-law Spike (Gladys), Bug (Ruby), John (Vergie), Joe (Naomi), and Unc (Annie); her sister Sue (Steve); daughter Ann Rayner (Guy); and son-in-law George Burgesser.
