Terry G. Nelson, 51, passed away suddenly the morning of October 6th. He was born in Fairplay, Colorado on December 20, 1966 to Jim and Jessie Nelson. He married the love of his life, Lori Armstrong, on July 20, 1991.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jerry; his sister, Fran, and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lori; sisters, Kimberlee Percy (Tim), and Jamey Nelson; children, Vincent Mathies (Samantha), Jazlynn Allen (Mark), and Terrel Nelson; and grandchildren, Madison, Gracelynn, and Terrance.
Terry was well known in the community for his friendly, yet ornery, personality. He enjoyed fishing with his wife, Lori, and joking around with friends and family at the Moose Lodge. He took pride in his children and would often be heard bragging about them to anyone that would listen, including random strangers in the grocery store parking lot. Even though he didn't have much, he was known as someone who would, quite literally, give you the shirt off his back. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
His viewing will be held Thursday, October 11th from 5 pm to 7 pm and his services will be held Friday, October 12th at 11 am, both at Heer Mortuary in Brush, Colorado.
A pot luck Celebration of Life will be held after the service at 1:30 pm on Friday, October 12th, at the Moose Lodge in Brush, Colorado. All are welcome to come eat and share cherished memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorial fund contributions may be made to Heer Mortuary.
