Obituary

Terry Warner, 80, of Fort Morgan, CO, passed away on May 18, 2022  at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Morgan  after a brief battle with cancer.

Terry was born on May 16, 1942 in Tulsa, OK, to Leland Ward Warner and Burlah E. Warner. At four months of age, Terry's family moved back to the family farm in Fairport, MO. He attended Liberty School and Fairport Elementary before graduating from Maysville High School in 1960. Following graduation, he attended the University of Missouri – Columbia, graduating in 1964 with a B.S. degree in agriculture.

Terry started his working career at Hammer Hog as an order buyer for a year-and-a-half. From 1966 to 2006, Terry worked for the USDA Meat Grading Service. During those 40 years, he worked at USDA facilities in St. Louis, MO; Montgomery, AL; Cape Girardeau, MO; Memphis, TN; Bristol, VA; Garden City, KS; and Fort Morgan, CO.

During Terry's time living in Bristol, TN, he met his wife of nearly 38 years, Karen M. Blazek. Terry and Karen were married on July 14, 1984 in Garden City, KS. In 1986, the couple moved to Fort Morgan, CO, where they were still living at the time of Terry's death. Terry and Karen enjoyed traveling to Athens, Greece; Istanbul, Turkey; a Greek Isles Cruise; Hawaii; and many other areas of the United States.

Terry enjoyed jogging and participated in more than 150 road races, including three marathons. Terry was a member of the United Methodist Church, serving on various committees, and was an usher for many years.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Burlah Warner, and his brother, Ronald Warner. Terry is survived by his wife, Karen Warner; daughters of his deceased brother, Claudia Adams (FL) and Andrea Garvey (IL); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews from both Terry's and Karen's families.

The memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan, CO. Inurnment will follow in Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan.
