TERRY "MOM" YOUNG, 62, longtime area resident, died Sunday morning, March 25, 2007 at the North Colorado Hospice Unit in Greeley, CO. She was born December 31, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to Lawrence & Genevieve (Weismann) Hoefer. Mrs. Young moved to Brush from Chula Vista, CA nearly 36 years ago. She has owned and operated G & T Farmers Lounge in Brush for the last 18 years. Mrs. Young enjoyed crocheting, leather work, doing crossword puzzles, and playing darts. She especially enjoyed buying scratch tickets and playing Lotto. She loved horses, as well as her cat and dog. She adopted the name "mom" from all of her customers at the lounge. Survivors include her daughter, Beth Thompson of Wiggins; five sons, John Chapman of Fort Morgan, Mark Bersch of Snyder, and Kevin Chapman, Garry Chapman, and Dean Bersch, all of Brush; two sisters, Joanne Hoefer of Aurora, and Rose Allen of Spring Valley, CA; one brother, Larry "Butch" Hoefer of Washington, and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Mary Hoefer, Sharon Hoefer, and Renee Szymanski. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 28th from 5-8 PM at the Heer Mortuary, 222 Cameron St., Brush. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 29th at 10:30 AM at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 340 Stanford St., Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Terry Young Memorial at Farmer's State Bank in Brush. The Heer Mortuary in Brush is in charge of arrangements.
