Obituary

Theodore "Ted" Curtis, 83, longtime Fort Morgan resident, died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Sterling Living Center.

Ted was born August 7, 1934 in Sterling to Louis & Daisy (Greenburg) Curtis. He attended school in Crook and later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Ted married Nancy Albert on August 9, 1959 in Fort Morgan. The family had lived in Nebraska, Wyoming, and Montana before returning to Fort Morgan.

Ted worked in the oilfield for nearly 20 years, 15 of which he spent with Schlumberger. He had also worked in real estate, insurance, and car dealerships before operating his own residential appraisal business, "TLC Appraisals", which he did until retirement.

Ted's passion was always cars. He was particularly drawn to antique automobiles. Ted also enjoyed attending his grandsons sporting events.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Curtis of Fort Morgan; his son, Steve Curtis and wife, Terry of Merino; his daughter, Cheryl Curtis of Wheat Ridge; two grandsons, Corey Curtis of Sterling, Jeremiah Curtis and wife, Rebecca of Merino; one granddaughter, Melissa Curtis of Sterling; and five great grandchildren, Jace, Aceline, Porter, Ayden, and Reid. Ted is also survived by two sisters, Sandra Hall of Coeur d' Alene, ID, and Jennie Bushnell of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bobby and Danny; and two sisters, Katherine and Betty.

A memorial service will be Saturday, November 11th at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 18918 Road 16 in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the Hall. Private Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
