THOMAS ELMER BARKER, 32, lifelong resident of Morgan County, died Sunday, September 28, 2008. He was born October 16, 1975 in Fort Morgan to Elmer & Diane (Amen) Barker. He attended Weldona Schools and graduated from high school there in 1994. At the time of his death, Thomas was the manager of Q Ranch near Wiggins. Tom enjoyed working with cattle, hunting, golfing, and playing poker. He also liked woodworking when time allowed and he especially enjoyed kids. Survivors include his parents, Elmer & Diane Barker of Weldona; his sister, Amy Williams of Grapevine, TX; his maternal grandfather, Ralph Amen of Fort Morgan; and his two nieces, Alexandria Williams and Arabella Williams. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lee & Marie Barker; his maternal grandmother, Virginia Amen; and his uncle, Stephen Amen. A memorial service will be 10:30 AM Friday, October 3, 2008 at the United Presbyterian Church, 1300 East Riverview Ave., Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow in Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan. The Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of arrangements.
