Thomas Joseph McFarland, age 79 passed away on October 20, 2022, after a short battle with cancer.

Tom was born on February 23, 1943, in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Dean and Gertrude (Westhoff) McFarland.  He lived most of his life in Fort Morgan.

He married the love of his life Anette (Heyborne) McFarland on July 19, 1969, in Las Vegas.  The were married for 53 wonderful years.  Tom worked most of his career with the City of Fort Morgan at the golf course and then the parks department.  He retired from the parks department in December 2011.

Tom enjoyed many hobbies including wood working, watching sports on TV especially Avalanche hockey, and supporting his kids and grandchildren in all their activities.  Tom could always be seen at concerts, dance recitals, and baseball games.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was their biggest supporter.   Tom was a longtime member of St. Helena Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife Annette, his daughter Stacy Baker (Darrin) of Fort Morgan, and son Brad McFarland (Lea Ann) of Prosper, Texas; two grandsons, Jared and Tyler Baker; three granddaughters, Emily Baker, Ailee and Brenna McFarland.  He is also survived by two brothers Ron and Charles McFarland, and three sisters Esther Weimer, Edna Winn, and Dorothy Ruby.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Vernon and Gerald McFarland, and one sister Vera.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan.  A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at St. Helena Catholic Church.  Services will conclude at the church and lunch will be provided by the Knights of Columbus following the mass.
