Trenton Thai King, age 32, of Fort Morgan, Colorado passed away on April 22, 2024.  Trent was born on Sunday, September 22, 1991 to Melissa "Missy" Weimer and Kevin King in Fort Morgan.  Missy went into labor while watching the Broncos on tv and waited before going to the hospital feeling that her mother (Trent's beloved Grandma Phyllis) was a little annoyed that Missy "chose" to go into labor during the game.  Trent must have been paying attention to the situation and to the game because he was born and remained a lifelong Denver Broncos fan.  Trent spent most of his youth growing up in Fort Morgan with his mom and his siblings Tyson and Makayla. During these years he thrived as a scholar and an athlete and especially enjoyed baseball and football.  He was responsible and took his role as man of the house very seriously being protective towards his mom and siblings and fiercely loving his family.  He lived in Fort Morgan until moving to Thornton his sophomore year to live with his dad Kevin.  Remembrances that have been received from former classmates and teammates speak of common themes of his handsome looks, his great athleticism, his intelligence and his humor.

Trent is survived by his mother Melissa King and Brian Hard, Ovid; father Kevin King, Thornton; stepmother Brenda King, Thornton; stepmother Cristel DeForge, Loveland; his little sisters Makayla Hard, Zoey DeForge, and Andrea King; and grandparents Richard Hudson and Andrea King.

Trent was preceded in death by his younger brother Tyson King; grandparents John & Phyllis Weimer, Dorothy Hudson and Lawrence King; and great-grandparents Gladys & Richard Binder, Larry & Betsy King, Walter & Ruby Yearous and John & Ruth Weimer. Trent has undoubtedly been reunited in heaven with his brother and comrade Tyson.  Their friendship was not always easy but it was a deep bond born of brotherhood, fostered with love and solidified by their devotion to one another.

Trent expected a lot of himself—to excel at school, sports and life.  At times he struggled with failing to achieve perfection even as he conquered his every endeavor.  And just as his mom Missy has sung for him over the last many years, "Carry on my wayward son, there'll be peace when you are done, lay your weary head to rest...," the time has come for that peace even if at the young age of 32 and even if not in the way his mom might most have wished to gift it to him.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Trent King on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Longmeadow Event Center, 8604 County Road 6, Wiggins, Colorado. Donations can be made to Trent's mom Missy King to offset funeral costs.
