Uetiva Zoe Pitt, 81, local area resident, died Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Fort Morgan.

Uetiva was born August 17, 1934 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Walter and Jessie Ratzloff.

She married William L. Pitt on November 25, 1972 in Denver.

They lived in LaSalle and Platteville until 1988 when they moved to the Hotchkiss and Paonia area where they began their own business. She retired in 2006 and moved to Weldona in 2007.

Uetiva attended the First Baptist Church in Fort Morgan.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, the outdoors, cooking, canning, sewing, Rockies baseball, and taking care of people. She also liked tending her flower and vegetable gardens.

Survivors include, one son, Russel Nichols of Fort Collins, one daughter, Sheryl Johnston (Dale) of Fort Collins, two step-daughters, Lori Kinnison (Casey) of Fort Morgan, and Debra Welsch (Scott) of Fort Morgan, one sister, Helen Jones, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Uetiva was preceded in death by her husband William, who died in 2013, brothers, Virgil, and Lester Ratzloff, sisters, Maxine, Joyce and Carolyn, and her parents.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm at the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan.

Funeral Services will be Friday, January 22, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.
