VERA MAE FRIHAUF, 91, longtime Wiggins resident, died early Saturday morning, January 5, 2008 at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Fort Morgan. She was born March 23, 1916 in Wheatland, WY to M.T. & Myrtle (Shreck) Anderson. She married Jake Frihauf on December 1, 1923 in Wheatland. They farmed in Wyoming until 1947 when they moved to Wiggins, CO. Mr. & Mrs. Frihauf farmed south of Wiggins for many years. Mrs. Frihauf was a member of the Christian Science Church and was an active member of the Morgan County Republican Committee and the Long Meadow Club. She enjoyed cooking for her family and working in her yard and garden. Survivors include her husband Jake Frihauf of Fort Morgan; five sons, Louis Frihauf of Fort Morgan, Robert Frihauf and Glen Frihauf, both of Wiggins, and Jack Frihauf and Gary Frihauf, both of Byers; two sisters, Ida Barber of Cheyenne, WY, and Edna Davis of Lovilia, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister; two daughters, Kathryn Elaine and Anita Eloise; and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan. Memorial gifts may be given to the charity of the donors choice. The Heer Mortuaries & Crematory are in charge of arrangements.
