Vernon Lee Drew of Fort Morgan passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at North Colorado Medical Center, surrounded by his children. Vernon was born on September 27, 1954, to Donald and Lorraine (Lora) Drew.

He was blessed with his first child, Levi, in 1985 and in 1991, the Lord blessed him again with his daughter who was named after him — Leesa.

Vernon was a lifelong resident of Morgan County. He worked for the Colorado Department of Transportation for over 20 years, all the while raising cattle and farming the family ranch north of Fort Morgan.

When his kids were younger, they spent many hours together at the Fort Morgan Saddle Club, where he and Levi were team roping partners. He also spent quality time watching his children show steers at the Morgan County Fair in addition to watching Leesa dance and play sports.

In Vernon's later life, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at Sunday breakfast and watching them at their various activities.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents.

He is remembered with love by his daughter Leesa (Nick) Jimenez, his son Levi (Amanda) Drew, and his grandchildren Kaleb, Autumn, Jocelyn, and William. He is also remembered by his sisters, Jan Baumgartner and Judy Drew (Bob).

A memorial service and reception will be on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Platte Valley Baptist Church, 22750 US Highway 34, Fort Morgan, Colorado.
