Vernon L. Jefferis, 82, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013, at the West Lake Care Center in Lakewood, CO. He was born February 10, 1931, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Vernie & Edna Jefferis. Vernon served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, Vernon attended the University of Iowa, where he received his BA degree. He moved to Colorado so he could continue his education at the Colorado School of Mines. He received his degree in metallurgical engineering. In 1979, Vernon moved to Morgan County. Vernon is survived by 1 sister, Jacqueline Goos; 1 brother, Donald Jefferis; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters and his parents. Vernon will be greatly missed by his 2 nieces who spent many hours with Vernon over the years. At Vernon's request no services will be held. Cremation was handled by the Heer Mortuaries & Crematory.
