Vernon "Jack" Pierce 75 of Snyder, died Monday, November 20, 2006 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. He was born April 17, 1931 in Stanberry, Missouri to William and Margaret (Hastings) Pierce. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Cleo Joan Dobner on September 2, 1956 in Snyder. Jack was a member of the Snyder Methodist Church and served on the Snyder Sewer Board. He enjoyed woodworking, some of the things he made were windmills and radio control airplanes. He also liked gardening, helping his family with whatever needed done and traveling. He and Cleo traveled in their RV from coast to coast and from border to border. Survivors include, his wife Cleo of Snyder, four sons, Michael Pierce of Craig, Bradley Pierce of Hillrose, Rodney Pierce of Radner, Ohio and Ronald Pierce of Ft. Collins, one sister, Jean Ann Thompson of Billings, Montana, one brother, Franklin J. Pierce of Fallon, Nevada, thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Lavonna Lynn, and one sister, Emilie Roth. Funeral Services will be Friday, November 24, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery. The visitation will be Wednesday, November 22, 2006 from 2 until 5 PM at the Heer Mortuary in Brush. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Snyder Methodist Church general fund. The Heer Mortuary and Crematory in Brush is in charge of the arrangements.
