Vicki Lee Kennedy , age 72, passed away at the family home on February 19, 2015. She was born on November 24, 1942 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Gerald Laird and Vivian Webb Laird. Vicki was home schooled and then attended many schools in such memorable areas as Homer, Alaska, Bryce Canyon, and Hawaii as her father was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration. She had fond memories of the years growing up free spirited in many different isolated areas. While attending high school in Coachella, CA, Vicki met and married William R. Burrage. To this union two children were born, William David and Rebecca Ann. She later moved to Akron, Colorado where she met and married Don King Kennedy. To this union two sons, Konnery King and Sean Kyle were born. Her dedication and love for her family was unconditional and immeasurable. As her children were growing up, Christmas was especially important to her. She spent days and hours choosing the perfect tree, shopping for unique gifts, and stuffing stockings for her family. She loved to play cards with family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing clothes. After the children were grown, Vicki and her husband Don bought a 5th wheel and traveled extensively. She also became very proficient on the computer and began to design multi-media presentations. Vicki was preceded in death by both of her parents and two sons, David and Konnery. Left to mourn are her husband Don, daughter Rebecca Spiva, son Sean Kennedy, step-son Jeff Kennedy (Shawnee), grandchildren Tristan, Nicole, Ashley, Damon, David, Eric, Shelbe, Jakobi, and Jillian, and great-grandson Judel. She is also survived by brother Jere (Karen) Laird, sister Jackie (George) Bower, brother-in-law Bill (Julaine) Kennedy and numerous other family and friends both local and across the country. Vicki chose cremation and a memorial in her honor will be held at a later date.
