Obituary

Viola A. Query, 87, life resident of the Genoa / Woodrow communities, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in Fort Collins. She was born March 2, 1928, on the family farm near Genoa, CO to Carl & Mary Paulson. Viola graduated from Woodrow High School in 1945. She completed Barnes Business College. She worked for a short time in Denver & Fort Lupton and then taught school in Washington County. On August 29, 1948, she married Virgil Query in Fort Morgan. Together, Viola and Virgil farmed south of Woodrow. Viola was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working cattle with her family and served as a 4-H leader for several years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, bookkeeping, and baking bread - 14 loaves at a time. She loved tending to things and was busy all the time. Education for her family and herself was always a priority. Viola was very proud of her husband and other family members who served in the US Military. Survivors include her children, Judy (Leonard) Molberg of Denver; Dan Query of Woodrow, Thomas (Lorrie) Query of Hillrose, Jane Query of Fort Collins and Karen (Dan) Groenendale of Prosser, WA; her two sisters-in-law, Frances Paulson of Limon, CO and Maxine Query of Goodland, KS; and her 10 grandchildren, Mark Molberg, Matthew (Marianne) Molberg. Julie Query, Jason Query, Jordan Query, Emily (Cody) Curtis, Erin Query, Todd Query, Rachel Groenendale, and Geoffory Groenendale and 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; 4 brothers, Prent Paulson, Chet Paulson, Victor Paulson, and Archie Paulson; and 1 sister, Mary Ann Williams and her parents. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 3, 2015, at 11:00 AM at the Howard United Methodist Church in Last Chance. Graveside service and interment will be in the Brush Memorial Cemetery at 2:30 PM. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the SW Washington County Ambulance and Fire Department or to the Washington County 4-H Foundation both c/o the Heer Mortuary in Brush.
