VIOLA JUNE SMITH, 75, lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. She was born June 5, 1933 in Denver to Albert & Hazel (Francis) Myers. She married Donald Smith on December 5, 1959 in Fort Morgan. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Sanctuary (Assembly of God) in Fort Morgan. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and especially enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Smith of Fort Morgan, Charles Smith of Bellvue, and Lynn Smith of Glenwood Springs; her daughter, Kathy Hert of Glenwood Springs; three sisters, Alberta Kauffman and Ila Meredith, both of Fort Morgan, and Beulah Rogers of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Jack Myers and Jerry Myers, both of Fort Morgan; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant brother, Harold Myers; her brother, Jewel Myers; and her husband. Funeral services will be Monday, November 3, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
