Virginia Anderberg (93), born in Montrose, CO, grew up in Sumerset, CO where she was surrounded by the Rocky Mountains and the North Fork of the Gunnison River.

She graduated from Paonia High School and subsequently graduated from Barnes Business College. She met her future husband, Kenneth Bach, at the College. They married and eventually settled in Hillrose, CO with their three daughters, Barbara, Donna, and Denise, then relocating to Brush. Their marriage ended after 24 years, and Virginia moved to Denver.  She later met Donald Powell and they married.   She became active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 1. She was so happy to be involved in the Auxiliary and took on Chaplain duties very seriously.  Donald eventually got throat cancer and passed away shortly thereafter. Her third husband, Norm Anderberg, was a great traveling companion and dance partner until his stroke. Norm passed away from complications of the stroke after 11 years of marriage. Virginia resettled in Brush to be closer to her family.

Virginia is survived by her sisters Esther Kuretich, and MaryJane Pennington; daughters Barbara Alley, Donna Tavenner (Lisa Fitzgerald) and Denise Dulaney; granddogter Sami; grandchildren Dorothy Dick (Dustin Kerr), Trish Tavenner, Tracey Sowdinski (Mike), and Jason Steffen; great grandchildren Dallas Tavenner (Fiancé Kaiden Koenig), Cassidy Dick, Brody Dick, Sydney Sowdinski, Matthew Sowdinski,  Shelby Steffen, Dillon Steffen, Ryan Winners, Jake Winners; her God Daughter Francine (Keith) Blackburn, as well as many other nieces and nephews that she cared about deeply. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Anna Lucero, two older sisters, June and Doris and a niece, Kathy.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
