Virginia Lee Edwards, 58, lifelong area resident, died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She was born April 28, 1952 in Brush to Elugio and Maryann (Almarez) Ybarra. She married Sonja Edwards on August 11, 1971in Sterling. Virginia loved her family and they were very important to her. She was also a foster parent to five children. She liked to sew and was very good at it. She made a lot of beautiful clothes, including her daughter's wedding dress. She also enjoyed canning. She is survived by one daughter, Regina Coffey of Brush, one son, Byron Edwards of Brush, five brothers, Paul Ybarra of Brush, Pete Ybarra of Greeley, Elugio "Lucky" Ybarra Jr. of Brush, Bennie Ybarra of Greeley, and Marty Ybarra of Tomah, Wisconsin, six sisters, Christina Rocha of Guymon , Oklahoma, Mary Bourquin of Greeley, Lizzy Griffin of Guymon, Oklahoma, Connie Hisle of Denver, Phyllis Alverez of Amarillo, Texas, and Pam Scott of Denver. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Louise Mirabal. A memorial service will be Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Assembly of God in Brush. Services will conclude at the church.
