Obituary

Virginia R. Hernandez, 91, of Ft. Morgan, died Monday evening at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Ft. Morgan. She was born September 26, 1919 in Bueyeros, New Mexico to Pablo and Emilia Rodriguez. She married Joseph Hernandez August 17, 1936 in Roy, NM. They have made Ft. Morgan their home for many years. She was a member of the Our Lady Of Lourdes Altar and Rosary Society, and attended Saint Helena Catholic Church. Her Faith in Jesus was her life. She was also a member of the Long Meadow Club in Wiggins. She enjoyed quilting, reading, cooking and baking, she especially enjoyed teaching others her recipes and how to make her Blue Ribbon French Bread. She loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Joseph of Ft. Morgan, her children Emily Avalos of Palm Springs, FL, Eddie Hernandez, Hope Rodarte, and Stella Lujan all of Ft. Morgan, one sister Toni Trujillo of Pueblo, one brother Johnny Rodriguez of Denver, 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son David Hernandez, three brothers Paul, Pete and Raymond Rodriguez one sister Victoria Herrera and two grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 pm with a Rosary to be held at 7 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Ft. Morgan. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at the Saint Helena Catholic Church in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.
