Virginia
Michael
Feb 23, 1922 — Feb 23, 2018
Virginia "Ginny" Lee Michael did it her way. She passed away on her 96th birthday in Fort Collins, CO. She was born to Otto and Hilda Ficken in New Raymer, C0. She married Fred Michael on June 1st 1941. As newlyweds they were quickly separated as Dec 7th 1941 brought Fred into the war of the Pacific. He did not get back from the war until 1945. After that they built their life in Fort Morgan, CO. She is survived by the following family: her son, Jerry Michael; daughter, Pat (Dave) Brown and daughter and son-in law, Sharon and Steve Ellsworth. She is also survived by faithful and loving family, Jeff and Ila Rusch and Kayla Rusch; grandkids, Kara (Allen) Seal and Jared Rusch, and many other cousins, nephews and nieces.
Then there is her other family. Even though they may not have been of her blood, the bond of love was strong: special daughter and son, Nancy and Jim Ellsworth; special grandkids, Scott and Hayley Ellsworth; special daughter, Nicole de los Santos and all her boys. Also are those very special friends that were always there for her, Joe and Joyce Montelongo, Danny and Ana Sanchez, and Roger and Jill Belisle. So many to name, but also Jim and Debbie, Wanda, Nell, June and many others.
Finally, the whole family would like to give thanks to the following: to Dr. Steve Broman and his staff for his loving care and kindness he showed to his Virginia and daughter; to the Halcyon Hospice team of Libby, Billy and Tina, your love and guidance meant the world; to Rigden Farm and Lakeview Commons Assisted Living, you gave my Mom a loving home and many friends; to Bayada Home Health Care for your amazing team; and finally, to Lemay Ave. Health and Rehab and to every single staff member, you loved my mom heart and soul. You showed grace and patience and love that went above a daughter's hope for her Mom. The family loves you all and will forever have gratitude for what you have done.
In lieu of flowers, Ginny would want you "not to waste your money" and please give to a charity that means the most to you. All those who met Virginia "Ginny" up in NoCo would always comment on her sense of humor, laughter, and amazing smile. It will be forever missed.
Services will be at the First Christian Church in Fort Morgan, CO on Friday March 9th at 11am. All are welcome to attend. Graveside services will immediately follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan. Online condolences and obituary can also be found at www.heermortuary.com
