Vivian Lee
Llewellyn
Mar 20, 1949 — Mar 11, 2024
Brush
Vivian Lee (Kendrick) Llewellyn was born on March 20, 1949, to Arthur and Dorothea (Mengers) Kendrick in Roswell, New Mexico. She passed away at St. Anthony North on March 11, 2024.
Growing up, the family lived in Roswell until Vivian was eight years old, and then the family moved around to Florida, Maine, and Michigan as Art was in the Air Force. Upon Art's retirement, they settled in Colorado Springs where they had family in the Monument/Palmer Lake area as well as in Colorado Springs. Vivian graduated from Billy Mitchell High School in 1967. Following high school, she attended UNC in Greeley for a short time before moving to the Spokane, WA, area where she finished her education, gaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. During her time at school there, she met Don Llewellyn whom she married in the fall of 1972. To this union, two boys were born, Michael in 1976 and Keith in 1978. Don's work led the family to the Tri-City area of Washington, then to North Dakota and finally back to Colorado where the boys grew up. Vivian worked for the Brush Police Department for 27 years before her retirement. Her greatest love, though, was spending time enjoying her boys. She always had fun and interesting things for them to do and learn from. While their country cousins were playing with balls, trucks and tractors, they had lava lamps, ant farms, skateboards and other fun entertainments. Mike and Keith did spend a lot of time with their country cousins while Viv was working and had many life experiences, mostly good ones. They were loved and cared for both there and at home, and life was good. As the boys got older and made many friends, Viv welcomed each one into her home and heart. Many of them even called her Mom.
Vivian is survived by her son Mike, her son Keith (Danielle), grandson Finn, her brother Dave Kendrick (LaRue), one niece and four nephews plus many great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her as Mom, sister, aunt and friend.
