Vivian Annabelle Ruby (nee Einspahr) entered into her eternal home to be with Jesus on May 28, 2024, at the age of 95 years.
She was the eldest child of Lorenz G. Einspahr and Esther W. E. (nee Meyer) Einspahr and was born on January 31,1929 on her parent's farm northwest of Flagler, Colorado. Vivian was brought into the kingdom of grace through her Baptism on February 24,1929 at Zion Lutheran Church, Flagler. Vivian attended public school at Arriba until moving with her family to the Holyoke community in 1936. There she made her confession of faith on her Confirmation Day, April 18, 1943, at Zion Lutheran Church. She graduated from Phillips County High School with the class of 1947.
Vivian and Eugene Ruby were married on June 1, 1947. To this union they were blessed with three children, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. They lived in various locations in Colorado including Englewood where Vivian was a librarian and Gene taught vocational agriculture at Cherry Creek High School. They then moved to Wiggins where they owned and operated the Ruby Hog Ranch from 1979-1989 after which they moved to Fort Morgan.
Vivian was a member and officer of the Colorado Pork Council Women and a director for the National Pork Council Women from 1983-1988. She was a consultant for Avon and Mary Kay, worked at the Treasure Chest gift store and was a member of the Fort Morgan Hospital Auxiliary. Her hobbies included painting and gifting ceramic figurines and gardening. Vivian was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort Morgan and was involved in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Chancel Choir, Bell Choir, and Circle of Concern. Vivian moved to the Bee Hive Assisted Living in February 2018 and to Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in October 2019.
Vivian is survived by her loving family. Children: Mark Ruby, Susan Weimer (Russ) and Jana Sena (Manuel); grandchildren: Lora Ruby and Sara Ruby; Crista Weimer and Jerry Weimer; Miranda Greenwood (Mike) and Trevor Sena (Amber); and great grandchildren: Kaylin, Adyson and Chyann Perea; Peyton Shaver; Matthew Stratton and Mikayla Greenwood. Brothers; Clyde Einspahr (Phyllis) and Byron Einspahr and other relatives and friends.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister and brother-in-law Marlys and Bob Harp, nephew Vaughn Harp, and daughter-in-law Maxine Baker.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 10:30 am at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 1100 W. Platte Ave. Fort Morgan followed by a committal at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan with Rev. Bror Erickson presiding. A light luncheon will follow at the church.
