Rev. Walter Pearce Graham Jr., 95, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 6, 2018.  He was born on November 23, 1922, in Mason County, IL. to Walter Sr. and Evelyn Elmore Graham.

Walt served during WW II with the 4th Marine Division in the Pacific where he saw action on Iwo Jima, Saipan, Tinian, and Roi Namur.  He received a military commendation for "remaining at his post" when his gun crew suffered a direct hit, wounding the rest of the crew.  Following his honorable discharge, after additional service during the Korean War, he worked as a cowboy in Meeker, CO. where he met and married Leona Gail Perrine on December 21, 1952.

Walt attended Rocky Mountain Bible College to prepare for pastoral ministry.  He served churches and communities in Black Hawk, CO, Conway, TX, Branson, CO, Johnstown, CO and Snyder, CO.  He loved the outdoors, riding horses, fishing, books, and funny stories, but most of all he loved God's Word.  He will be best remembered for reading the Bible through every year to know his Lord better, giving advice and comfort based on the Bible and pursuing a life that reflected the Lord he loved.

Walt was preceded in death by his wife, Leona, his parents, and his brother Bruce.  He is survived by his children, Jigger [Norela] Graham of Sterling, CO, Becky [Jim] Dietz of Pensacola, FL, Cindy [Dan] Leis of Merino, CO, and Bill [Susan] Graham of Marietta, GA; his siblings, Bonita Rademaker of Emden, IL, Shirley [Jim] Stone of Middletown, IL, and Bob Graham of Niantic, IL; his grandchildren, his great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Heer Mortuary, 222 Cameron Street in Brush, CO from 4 - 6 PM on Friday, November 9th.  A Funeral service will be held at the Snyder Bible Church on Saturday, November 10th at 10:30 AM.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Walt Graham Memorial Fund through the Heer Mortuary, which will be dispersed among organization close to his heart.
