Wanda L. Meng, 86 , long time area resident, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. Wanda was born March 30, 1928, in Barnett, Missouri, to Granderson and Leona (Nail) Reynolds. Wanda grew up in the Barnett area and then attended high school in Eldon, Missouri, graduating in 1945 as Valedictorian of her class. She immediately entered Nursing School at Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, graduating in 1948. After graduation, Wanda moved to Loveland, Colorado where she met and married Robert "Bob" Meng on November 7, 1950. They moved to Fort Morgan, where they had four children, Renee, Mike, Sheryl and Bobbi, and remained here for the next 30 years. Wanda continued her nursing career in both local hospitals, Brush and Fort Morgan, and then moved on to become the Clinical Director of the Fort Morgan Medical Group. She retired from the Medical Group in 1980, at which time, she and her husband Bob, moved to Gun Barrel City Texas, where they became co-owners/operators of the Harbor Light Marina on Cedar Creek Lake. They both enjoyed all the travelers they met who vacationed at the facility, along with the many who lived there permanently or came from surrounding areas for the week-ends. After selling the marina, they moved back to Fort Morgan where they could be nearer their children and grandchildren. They spent several winters in Arizona where Wanda again stepped back into her nursing shoes part time at a nearby nursing home. Wanda enjoyed family lake days when the kids were teenagers and older, reading, watching General Hospital, listening to Elvis, and was an avid Broncos fan. Survivors include her 3 daughters, Renee (Bob) Becker, Sheryl (Rodger) Stark of Fort Morgan, and Bobbi Meng of Englewood, her daughter-in-law Linda (Mike) Meng of Gilbert, Arizona, her sister Marie Moran of Kansas City, Missouri, sister-in-law Joyce Meng, 11 grandchildren, Rob (Dianne) Becker, Jon (Christal) Becker, and Josh (Rhiannon Greene) Becker, Breena (Ben Purlmutter), Brandon (Sarah) Meng and Bryant Meng, Brian (Sarah) Stark, Matt Stark and Courtney (Rodolfo) Carrera, Ashley (Levi) Tatkenhorst and Liana Littlefield, and 18 great-grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her son, Michael, her 3 brothers, William, Charles and Rue Reynolds, and 3 sisters, Ruby Reynolds, Ruth Vann and Ethel Parkes. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29th at 2:30 PM at the All Saints Lutheran Church in Brush, with Chaplain Ro Fesser officiating. Those who wish may make memorial gifts to the Eben Ezer foundation in Wanda's name.
