Wayne E. Colburn, 75, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011, at the inpatient unit of North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. He was born June 8, 1936, in Alliance, NE, to Elwood & Ann Colburn. On August 5, 1954, Wayne married Martha Keane in Gering, NE. In 1959 the Colburn family moved to Morgan County where they were involved in farming and cattle ranching until they retired. Wayne loved is farm work. He enjoyed tinkering with equipment and collecting old coins. He also liked to play cards. He was a member of the Morgan County Moose Lodge #1857. Survivors include his wife, Martha of Brush; 3 children, Bob, and his wife Nikki, of Fort Collins, CO, Bill and his wife, Kim, of Fort Morgan; and Kathy Hurley, and her husband David of Aurora, CO; 2 sisters, Jean Dickey of Ulysses, KS, and Patricia Presswood of Dallas, TX; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Friday, October 21, 2011, at 10:30 AM. The service will conclude at the mortuary.
