Obituary

Wilbert "Dip" Ruhl, 85, died early Thursday morning, March 3, 2016 at the Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan.

He was born February 11, 1931 on a farm south of Fort Morgan to Peter & Marie (Sagel) Ruhl. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Military Police Sgt. From 1951 until 1954. When he returned from the service Dip began his career as an electrician with Great Western Sugar Co. where he continued working until his retirement in 1993.

He married Nancy J. Schwindt in Fort Morgan on July 18, 1958.

Dip was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking projects and flying remote control helicopters.

Survivors include his brothers, Peter Ruhl Jr. of Fort Morgan and Donald "Chic" Ruhl of Brush; his sisters, Ruth Brandt and Emma Schlothauer, both of Fort Morgan, Wilma Moore of Denver, and Virginia Schimpf of Falcon, and many nieces and nephews.

Dip was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy on March 17, 2012; and his sisters, Mary Brandt and Lydia Schlothauer.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 9th at 1:00 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow in Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan.
