Wilda D. Harless, 93, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at her home. She was born March 18, 1917, in Imperial, NE, to Benjamin & Rose Welton. Wilda married Lyle Harless on September 28, 1936 in Haigler, NE. He passed away April 22, 1988. The Harless family moved to Morgan County in 1945. Wilda enjoyed gardening, sewing, hunting, fishing, collecting elephant figurines, and attending family events. She served as a 4-H leader for several years. Prior to health issues forcing her to stop, Wilda was involved with the senior citizens groups and played drums for the senior band Silver Notes. Survivors include her 2 daughters, Betty Jean Harless of Log Lane Village and Kay Knaub of Wray, CO; 1 brother, Howard Welton of Scottsbluff, NE; 3 sisters, Lavina Reden of Denver, Lois Reimer of Kingman, AZ, and Pearlene Davies of Pueblo, CO; 9 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 great granddaughter, 3 brothers, and her parents. Funeral services will be Monday, November 15, 2010, at 11:00 AM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the Heer & Dahl Chapel on Sunday from 2 – 4 PM. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society c/o Heer & Dahl Mortuary.
