While working Butch also had many hobbies he engaged in, he enjoyed woodworking and building things, he did mechanic work for family and friends vehicles. He did rodeo activities in his younger years. Butch loved to fish, especially with his daughter Sheryl.  He entered many chili and other food cook offs and won some.  He enjoyed being an auctioneer for whatever benefit auctions he was asked to do and attending other auctions to find his "treasures".  He enjoyed being Santa at events during the holidays. Butch was a long time member of the American Legion Post 19. He loved cooking for his family on Sunday afternoons.  Butch knew no stranger and if he didn't know you he would after the first interaction.
