God relieved the pain for William (Bill) Baughman while at his home in Hillrose on September 29, 2023. He was the son of Roy and May Baughman (both now deceased) born in Brush Co. on July 14, 1949. He attended school in Snyder until it consolidated and he then graduated from Brush in 1968. Bill came from a large family, preceded in death by six siblings with six remaining ; Ella Mae Walker of Fort Morgan, Peg and Steve Holmes of Sterling, Mavis and John Weddell of Cambridge Springs Pa, Dave and Jan Baughman of Boston Bar B.C., Drew and Marie Baughman of Snyder and Jo and Man Le of Colorado Springs.
After graduating school Bill was drafted and served in the United States Army from May 15,1969 until May 14,1971. With his duty to his country completed he returned home to start his adult life.
A year later he was married to the love of his life and partner in everything Melissa (Pierce) Baughman for the rest of his life, 51 years . Together they had three children Brenda Baughman (deceased) Adam and Angela Baughman of Merino and Alan Baughman (deceased). They also have two grandchildren, Abigail "Abby" and Aiden Baughman of Merino.
During those years Bill had numerous jobs ranching, driving truck, construction, and operating heavy equipment. The most notable was his employment with Morgan County Road and Bridge for over 30 years. In this time he was also a member of Snyder Bible Church where he served as a deacon and teacher for many years. He was formerly involved in a jail/prison ministry as well as helping with Cowboy Bible Church.
Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He also greatly enjoyed poetry and spending time in God's word.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 7 at 10:30 AM at Snyder Bible Church in Snyder, Colorado, followed by interment at Brush Memorial Cemetery.
