William Herman Brunkhardt, 88, lifelong area resident, died Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.

He was born July 26, 1928 in a farm house in Hillrose, Colorado to Jakob and Marie (Lauck) Brunkhardt

William married Florence Marie Hunt on January 27, 1952 in Brush, Colorado.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan and served in the Men's Club. He was also a member of the "McDonald's Coffee Club".

William enjoyed camping, traveling, dancing, and woodworking. In his later years he would grow vegetables in the Eben-Ezer garden. William was a determined and hard worker. He would scrounge old and broken picture frames from various places and would rebuild and refinish them. His wife was a painter and used these frames for her pictures.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Daniel (Jim) of Mead, Colorado, and Ruth Villarreal (Steve) of Brush, one son Don Brunkhardt (Vicky) of Liberal, Kansas, one, sister, Teresa Kautz of Brush, one brother, Victor Brunkhardt of Torrington, Wyoming, grandchildren, Christi Romkee (Lee), JaLee Kitzman (Kagen), Cathy Daniel, Elizabeth Fox, Jody Rael (Mike), Austin Brunkhardt (Kali), Mindy Brunkhardt, Shelly Labrier (Justin), Rebecca Tibbetts and Carrie Tibbetts, and fourteen, great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he dearly loved.

William was preceded in death by his wife Florence, fifteen brothers and sisters, and his parents.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow Memory Gardens.

Memorial gifts may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Sunday School Program.
