William "Bill" H. Dempster, of Fort Morgan, CO, passed away, Friday, November 17, 2017. He was born December 16, 1942 in Tilden, NE to Donald D. & Mina Marie (Bennett) Dempster.

Bill graduated from Gering High School in 1961. On February 23, 1964, Bill married Sylvia Ann Meter in Scottsbluff, NE. During and after high school he worked for the Lockwood Company in Gering, NE before going to work with his father, Donald Dempster at Dempster Welding and Manufacturing in Stegall, NE. He later took over the business and moved it to Morrill, NE where he worked at it until 1984. Upon selling the business he temporarily worked a couple other jobs before starting his career at Western Sugar in 1985 at the Mitchell NE factory. He retired in 2009 as a Shift Supervisor of Western Sugar Co. in Fort Morgan, CO. Upon retirement, Bill worked part time at the golf course in Brush, CO.

Bill was involved in many things which included being a Morrill Volunteer Fireman and an EMT in Morrill, NE for over 20 years. He was on the Village Board for the Village of Morrill and was an elder of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Morrill, NE.

His hobbies included riding his Gold Wing motorcycle with his wife, golfing and spending time with family and many of his friends.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia A. Dempster of Fort Morgan, CO.; children, Tersea Dempster (Cary Hammond) of Rohnert Park, CA, Cristina Natvig (Matthew) of Cedar Falls IA, and David Dempster (Julie) of Mankato, MN; grandchildren, Julie Rossetti (Eric), Matt Hauff (Christina), Brynnae Dempster, Ethan Dempster; and great grandchildren, Abigail, Ryder, Bentley and Harper. Bill is also survived by two sisters; Donna Keilty of Norfolk, NE and DeAnna Smith (Gary) of Fort Morgan, CO; and one brother, Donald Dempster (Karen) of McCall, ID, and his many nieces and nephews.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; older sister, Carolyn Jenkins; mother-in- law, Violet Schmidt and father-in-law, Riney Meter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday the 22nd of November 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 800 Sherman St., Fort Morgan, CO., 80701. Interment will be held immediately after the service at the Brush Memorial Cemetery.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday the 21st of November from 4 to 7 PM at the Heer Mortuary, 225 E Platte Ave, Fort Morgan, CO.
