William "Bud" E. Ballew, 96, of Fort Morgan, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. He was born September 1, 1911 in Princeton, Missouri to John H. and Loretta (Pittman) Ballew. He married Elizabeth Belle Middlemist on June 14, 1931. She died in 2000. Mr. Ballew loved farming. He farmed for the majority of his life and even drove his tractor this year. Survivors include his children; Betty Eubanks of Fort Morgan, CO, Roberta Bell and Jim Ballew, both of Deer Trail, CO and Robert Ballew of Littleton, CO.; his sisters, Virginia Moore of Harlington, TX, Margaret Smith of Longview, TX, Shirley Ballew of Warrensberg, MO and Bobbie Cumins of Bethany, MO; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son William "Bill" D. Ballew; his brother Winton Ballew and his sister, Kuma Glason. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 20, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan. The Heer Mortuary and Crematory in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
