William "Bill" Albert Gerken, 76, of Fort Morgan, Colorado, left his earthly home to be with the Lord on August 20th, 2014. He was born February 7, 1938, in Fort Morgan, to the late Ruby and Elmer Gerken. He was the second eldest of six children. Bill married Sandra Longton in 1959, and had two sons, Bill Junior and Dale Gerken. In 1965, he married LuAnn Blackwell and adopted Lori Snyder and Jodi Blackwell. Their union produced three children, Mark, Kelli and Wendi. Bill married Nona Rodgers in 1991and he adopted Breanna "Breezy" Ramsey, raising her following their dissolution. During his lifetime he was a dairy and wheat farmer, owned his own lawn care service, CBM Iron Services and Lawn Mowing, and loved being a handyman, remodeling and managing his own rental property. Bill would be remembered by his friends for always wearing his overalls, farmer's cap and that unmistaken wide smile. He truly loved the country, especially hunting, fishing (ice, stream and freshwater), and arrowhead hunting. He was incredibly proud of his extensive coin collection. He rarely missed morning coffee with his eldest sister, Naomi. If given the chance, he would have been on his lawnmower till God took him home. He is survived by his siblings, two sistersNaomi Wood (Dwayne) of Fort Morgan, Becky Whitney (Stan) of Fort Morgan; one brother, Eddie (Karen) of Fort Morgan; sonsDale (Mary) of Denver, and Mark (Heidi) of Fort Morgan; daughters Lori Snyder (Randy) of Houston, TX; Jodi Blackwell (David) of Denver; Kelli Kuntz (Greg) of Spring, TX; Wendi Lundquist (Tom) of Phoenix, AZ, and Breanna "Breezy" Ramsey (Brad) of Fort Morgan. Bill had fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandson, Stetson (Casey) and one great-granddaughter, Kinsley (Kamron), and many nephews, nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents; two newborn sisters, Ronda and Wanda; son, Bill Junior Gerken; brother-in-law Dwayne; nephew, Stuart Wood; and grandson, Kyle Snyder. Family will receive visitors Friday, August 22, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 23, at 2:00 p.m..
