Obituary

William "Will" Gregory Jones, 25, of Hillrose, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024 at The Denver Hospice after a brief but brave battle with Fibrolamellar Carcinoma (FLC), a rare liver cancer that primarily affects young people that typically have healthy livers.

Will was born in Fort Morgan on October 7, 1998 to Eric & DeAnn (Nichols) Jones. He worked most of his short life as a farm laborer but was most certainly a jack of all trades; always wanting to learn new things.

Will married Billy Jo Gildow on September 18, 2021 and they were just in their prime of raising their family; Jameson William, age five and Bexlee Jo Kay, age two.

Will was an avid outdoorsman and was always happiest when he was doing something outside. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tinkering on vehicles. He also like attending auctions where he would often find another treasure to bring home. He loved teaching his children and being a good example for them and he especially enjoyed riding on the four-wheeler and minibike with them.

Will was diagnosed with stage four Fibrolamellar Carcinoma in March of 2023, and he faced this battle with the most unbelievable strength and courage, as he and Billy Jo and the family would have peptalks before every treatment. He will most certainly be remembered as a true fighter in this aspect. He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother and friend and will be deeply missed.

Will leaves behind his wife, Billy Jo and their children, Jameson and Bexlee; his mom, DeAnn and dad, Eric, all of Hillrose; two brothers, Derek and wife, Sam of Decatur, IL, and Kyle and wife, Lyssa of Lagrange, GA, and many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dean & Tracy Nichols and Cerold and Bea Jones.

A celebration of life will be at the big shop at Will's dad's place, 13052 County Road 55 in Hillrose on Saturday, January 27th, beginning at 1:00 PM.
